Kohmen Tonkotsu Ramen have a ramen chain, called Komen, in Tokyo, Japan that is well-known for its pork bone-based ramen and this food stall is their first Singapore outlet.
First Impressions
There is nothing special about their food stall other than their big and bright overhead menu sign board. It is easy to read and make food selection. And since it is situated in a food court setting, you need to find any available table by yourself.
The Staff
Order taking and food collection are all self-serve. The staff at the cashier was friendly and all smiles while punching my order in their Point-Of-Sale machine. After payment, I was given a wireless queue pager that vibrates and sounds off when my food is ready for collection.
The Service
We waited for less than five minutes and our order was ready for collection. Everything was fast as expected.
The Food
My wife got a bowl of Jukusei Tonkotsu Ramen. It was piping hot and fragrant. You can sense the flavor of soy sauce and the richness of the soup by smelling. The soup was very creamy and you can savor the delicious taste of pork bones. The meat slices have perfect thickness and it was so soft and tender. The ramen was long, springy, and infused with the flavorsome broth. The sheet of seeweed and chopped spring onion adds texture to this succulent dish.
Jukusei Tonkotsu Ramen was priced at S$ 11.90.
Jukusei Tonkotsu Ramen
I got a bowl of Ajitama Jukusei Tonkotsu Ramen which was essentially Jukusei Tonkotsu Ramen topped with two halves of Ajitama or flavored egg. The ajitama was soft and its yolk has a custard-like texture.
Ajitama Jukusei Tonkotsu Ramen was priced at S$ 13.90.
Our Take
The bowls of ramen were very satisfying, warming, and tummy-friendly especially since it was way past our lunchtime when we have eaten. We highly recommend the Ajitama Jukusei Tonkotsu Ramen. They also have a few variants of spicy ramens if you prefer spicy food.
Operations
They are open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. They accept all major credit cards, NETS, and cash payments.
