This is a review from our Guest Mazy Yap of Social Media Never Sleeps
Located right between the Theatre District and the most prestigious address at Boston’s Newbury streets, the entrance and vibe of the whole place definitely live up to the luxurious ring of this award-winning hotel.
First Impressions
The décor is very simplistic yet elegant, but most definitely did not call $70 brunch to mind. The panoramic view of the Charles and Boston skyline on top of the outdoorsy chairs give it a light European touch of casual-afternoon-tea.The Staff
Two words: Extremely Friendly. The staff is very diversified in backgrounds, thus the exotic accents for some of your culture fanatics. They chat and joke around with you if you’re up to it, snapping you out of your lazy Sunday morning taciturnity.
Embarrassing as it is, we fulfilled our Asian duty and asked the waiter to take a group picture for us at this classy, luxurious breakfast. Unlike the usual annoyance, the waiter was happy to take a picture for us, and even asked another waiter who was a “professional photographer” to take another one just in case.
The Service
Although it’s a buffet, our complimentary juice, and hot tea is refilled regularly and dirty plates always missing by the time I grabbed another round of food and sat down.
The Food
Honestly, the food was a little disappointing. The variety of food displayed for a brunch is decent, but the quality of certain dishes, such as the seafood appetizers, was not extraordinary.
The sushi was decent for a western restaurant, but surprisingly the crab legs and oysters were not very fresh.

Seafood Appetisers
The highlight of my meal was the Egg Benedict, as it was for all my friends. It is absolutely sensational and a must-try! As a person who is very picky about my bacon, they managed to provide warm, crispy, yet not oily and burnt bacon for a buffet.
They also have a waffle/crepe stand that I didn’t have an empty stomach to try. From observation, it looks very delicious and the line in front of the stand shows how popular it is.
The selection of desserts is wonderful and colorful! All made in bite-size, the mini-cakes and parfaits were super pretty and irresistible. The best part of it – they taste good.
Delightful Desserts
A little something extra. The mini Ketchup, honey, and maple syrup bottles were part of the buffet! Extremely cute, and made all of us a little of a hoarder.
Our Take
If you are looking for delicious gourmet food, this isn’t the place. The Taj Rooftop Brunch is about the experience – enjoying a nice Sunday morning (half escaping to Europe for a second), overlooking the city you didn’t find time to appreciate during the busy week, and enjoying a nice cup of tea.
Operations
Brunch seating is available from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The food costs $66 for adults (there's a glass of champagne involved) and $30 for children ages 4 to 12 years old.
They accept all major credit cards and cash payments.
